Would anybody out there have a video copy of Jim McCann - Live in The National Stadium (circa 1982 I think) on tape? If so I'd really appreciate it if you send me a PM and we can organise a swap, I'm sure I'd have something to trade in return Smile.

I recently saw some videos of this gig on YouTube (which have since been deleted) and I was spellbound by the way Jim sings the songs, there's something that gets added when you actually see the singer peform over just hearing the song alone. It's the same with Christy and Liam Clancy, they just close their eyes and away they go...

Hi Justy, you mean National Stadium 1984, Jim and the Dubliners ? clips are still there on Youtube, 16 clips in total and for some obscure reason the name of the poster, Daragh Phelan, rings a bell... (his "Youtube" name is IrishandFolkMusic) , maybe he is a poster on the guestbook or something ? What i have done in the past is make direct contact with the posters on Youtube and from there see if they willing to share, they usually are... Let us know, good luck.

Hi Maryline. It's actually not that one, apparently Jim did a solo gig at the National Stadium in 1982, which was released on an LP. I think it was an official video release for a while, or else it must have been shown on RTE and someone made a recording of it.

The setlist was:

Galway Races
Spancil Hill
Easy & Slow
Follow Me Up To Carlow
Next Markey Day
Times Have Changed
Town of Ballybay
Carrickfergus
Lord of the Dance
Go Lassie Go

Unfortunately all these videos have dissapeared from YouTube and I can't remember the name of the poster so I can't contact them. I thought'd these videos would be up there forever, I was so wrong!! I really want Easy & Slow, it had to be the best version ever!

Here's the LP: http://itsthedubliners.com/jmc_D09_live.htm
